Naby Keita's improved English "a big step"
Naby Keita’s improved English is a ‘big step’, Jurgen Klopp says, and should help the Guinean reach new heights at Liverpool.
Commenting on Keita’s English, Klopp said: “It’s good now, much better.
“The last talk I had with him was in English and it looked like he understood what I said. That is a big step. He is here long enough now.
“Yes (language is important) but he is a smart boy so football-wise it is not a problem. The tactical things are obvious, they are clear, and he was in pre-season with us so he has done all the important stuff.
“But language helps massively, yes.”
Keita is on his way back to full fitness after he suffered another setback this season and fans are hopeful that he can put his injury struggles behind him develop into one of the best midfielders in the Premier League.
He has all the physical tools necessary to succeed in England as well as the technical quality to establish himself as a player on the same playing field as Kevin De Bruyne and N’Golo Kante.
Of course, there is a long way to go for the former RB Leipzig dynamo to match the two aforementioned midfielders as both have won the Premier League twice but Keita certainly has the talent required.
