Premier League distribution information broke down the figures to reveal that Liverpool were awarded £82.6million as a base TV fee plus £33.5 million for their screened Premier League games (29). This was boosted even further with £36.5million for their finishing position in the league.

No club has ever earned more than a quarter of a billion pounds from TV money until this season, with Jurgen Klopp’s exciting brand of attacking football drawing in viewers around the globe.

Liverpool also received £67.2million for winning the Champions League, plus £20million of revenue from the collective UEFA pot and £11.3million as a share of the TV money.

In total, the Reds earned £33million more than last season, further proof that the club are progressing on every front with each passing year under FSG.

In a recent interview, Liverpool chairman Tom Werner said: “It’s been a period of constant progress and it’s been a real pleasure to watch the continual improvement of the team.

“It’s been a wonderful time for the club. I remember when we locked in our position as one of the top four teams qualifying for the Champions League for next season, some people almost took it for granted because our goal really all year was to actually win the league.

“We are extremely proud of what the whole team at LFC have accomplished. When I say ‘we’, I’m talking about John, Mike and I.”
