Klopp says 22-year-old won’t be loaned out again this season

Jurgen Klopp

Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Ryan Kent won’t be loaned out again this coming season in what will have come as a blow to Rangers, according to the Mirror.

Kent made 43 appearances for Steven Gerrard’s side last season, scoring six goals for the Scottish side and winning the PFA Scotland Younger Player of the Year award.

However, Klopp says the 22-year-old will not be sent out on loan for the 2019/20 season, with a permanent move away from Anfield likely.

“His time is over for loans,” Klopp said.

“At the age he is now, he needs to find a place where he can settle. We will see what happens but a loan is not planned.

“He came back [from Rangers] as a completely different player and it was a very important year for him.

“It helped being with a good manager, at a good club, with good competition, and it was exactly the right thing for him at the right moment.”
