Liverpool Set Return Date for Salah, Firmino, and Alisson

The trio will return at the club’s French training camp and could be involved in the Community Shield.
Liverpool are in the United States preparing for their next three pre-season friendlies against Dortmund on Friday, Sevilla on Sunday, and Sporting Lisbon next Wednesday, but not everyone is back in training just yet.
Having participated at the Africa Cup of Nations with Egypt, Mohamed Salah is still on his vacation as are Roberto Firmino and Alisson, who won the Copa America with Brazil this summer. Today, Jürgen Klopp outlined when they will return.
“Mo and the Brazilians will come for Evian,” he said during a break in training today at Notre Dame, where they will play Dortmund on Friday. “It means then we have nearly a week until City, a strong 12 days until Norwich.”
Following the North America tour, the Reds return to England briefly and will face Napoli on Sunday, July 28th in Edinburgh. They then head to Evian, France for the final week of preparations—including a friendly against Lyon.
With the Community Shield set for the following Sunday—just a week after the Napoli game that Alisson, Firmino, and Salah won’t be around for—it might be too soon for them to start against Manchester City, but all will at least be involved.
Then, the following Friday, Liverpool’s season kicks off against Norwich. The only doubt at that point will be Sadio Mané, whose return isn’t set yet with Mané’s Senegal set to take on Algeria in the final of the AFCoN on Friday.
“The good thing is, when you have a short break you don’t lose a lot,” Klopp added. “They needed three weeks. I would have preferred it if they had come back after a week, but that would make absolutely no sense!
“With Sadio, we have to see about him after the final, how he is feeling and stuff like that. It will be really difficult—sixteen days before we play City, his season is finished. We will have to make a decision, but we haven’t made it yet.”
