Alisson sparks concern after posting to Instagram; is his injury more serious than initially thought?

Alisson showed his support for his Liverpool teammates by posting a photo of himself to Instagram that shows him wearing a protective boot.

The Brazilian is the best goalkeeper in the world and while supporters are over the moon with Adrian after his penalty shootout heroics in Istanbul on Wednesday evening, Alisson is missed.

He was at home while his teammates faced Chelsea and while he certainly had no intentions of doing so, the former AS Roma man sparked further speculation over his injury while showing support for his side.

The official communication from Liverpool is that Alisson suffered a calf injury against Norwich City and will be out for a number of weeks but there has been a fair amount of speculation over whether it could be an Achilles issue.

When he suffered the injury, he appeared to feel as though he was kicked but given that there weren’t any players near him, it’s possible that he suffered a much more serious injury.

Liverpool desperately need the 26-year-old fit this season to win more silverware.
