Liverpool vs. Arsenal Date Set as Reds Fined £200k for League Cup Error

The Reds survive fielding an ineligible player against MK Dons and now know they will face Arsenal on the 30th.
Lost somewhat amongst Liverpool playing a game against RB Salzburg in Europe’s premier cup competition and almost losing it but then salvaging it and then everyone reacting to it, the Reds have learned their fate in England’s second cup competition.
Namely that they’re still in it. The League Cup, that is. Or the Carabao Cup if you’re big on giving sponsors their due or just really, really like energy drinks but want to avoid the one that sponsors the club Liverpool played last night in the Champions League.
The news, though. The League Cup. That Liverpool are still in after the English Football League chose to fine them £200k for fielding the ineligible Pedro Chirivella in their third round victory over MK Dons, ensuring they will next face Arsenal.
Though unlikely, both replaying the match and Liverpool being expelled from the competition had reportedly been options on the table. Instead, it’s a light punishment—at least by big club standards—and the Reds officially on to the next round.
And speaking of the next round, it has also been confirmed today that, as widely expected, Liverpool will host Arsenal on Wedneday, October 30th. The match between the two Premier League sides is set to kick off at 7:30PM.
