John Aldridge makes claim about Pep Guardiola
Former Red John Aldridge believes that Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is “freaked out” by Jurgen Klopp.
The claim came after the Champions League last 16 draw. The Reds were drawn against Atletico Madrid. Manchester City will face Real Madrid.
Both Liverpool and Manchester City are the sides to beat in the Champions League this season, according to Aldridge. However, he does feel that Guardiola is quite terrified of Klopp’s team.
“[Manchester City] have not performed at their best in Europe and there seems to be a block for them when they get to the latter stages of the competition,” Aldridge told the Irish Independent.

“They will be contenders again this season, but they will probably have to get past Liverpool and we all know now that Guardiola is freaked out every time he goes up against Klopp.”
Klopp’s Liverpool have already beaten Guardiola’s City in the Champions League knockout rounds in the past, meaning there is evidence to suggest what Aldridge is saying is true.
Liverpool have also already defeated the Citizens this season in the Premier League. The Reds won the clash 3-1 at Anfield.
There is no denying that Manchester City have an eye on the Champions League this season. The club have never won the trophy before, meaning there is pressure for Guardiola to deliver.
There is every possibility both sides could be drawn against each other at some point. If that were to occur, it would be interesting to see how Guardiola would react.
