Liverpool drawn against Atletico Madrid in Champions League last 16
Liverpool will face Spanish giants Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League round of 16.
Liverpool finished on top of Group E, which saw the Anfield club drawn against Atletico Madrid, who finished second in Group D.
The Reds will return to the Wanda Metropolitano come the first leg, which is the stadium Jurgen Klopp’s side defeated Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 in the 2019 Champions League final.
Atletico Madrid will then travel to Anfield come the second leg. The two legs will be played on February 18/19/25/26 and March 10/11/17/18.

Liverpool have not played Atletico Madrid in a competitive fixture since 2010. Rafa Benitez’s Liverpool were knocked out of the Europa League semi-finals by the Spanish giants.
This will be a difficult clash for the Reds. Atletico Madrid are a side that have proven to be difficult to break down under Diego Simeone.
However, Liverpool have shown for the majority of this season they have been able to overcome anything that has been thrown at them.
Most sides would have wanted to avoid the Reds in the last 16, which should fill Klopp’s team with confidence heading into the clash.
