Reds midfielder sends message to Liverpool fans ahead of FIFA Club World Cup final

Midfielder Adam Lallana has stated that Liverpool will be giving it their all in the FIFA Club World Cup final against Flamengo on Saturday.

The Reds defeated Monterrey 2-1 in the semi-final on Wednesday thanks to goals from Naby Keita and Roberto Firmino.

It was a difficult outing for Jurgen Klopp’s side, who only managed to win the game in stoppage-time.

Lallana, who started against Monterrey, is determined to take home the trophy that declares Liverpool are the best team in the world.

“We are European champions and [we want] to be World Club champions,” Lallana told the media. “There’s not many people who can say that. We are going to give it our all.

“I’m sure Bobby and Alisson (Brazilians Roberto Firmino and Alisson Becker) will give us some inside info on them [Flamengo].

“We watched them the other day: they were very dynamic, very aggressive, physical, we will have to recover quickly.

“We are just going to concentrate on ourselves. That’s all we ever do. We respect the opposition, we will analyse them.

“It’s all about recovery now and [come out] all guns blazing for Saturday. Another trophy is up for grabs at the weekend so bring it on. We are here in a final so let’s go for it.”

It appears to be unlikely that Lallana will start against Flamengo. Liverpool have plenty of depth in the midfield, meaning he could be forced to settle for a place on the bench. He wasn’t at his best against Monterrey, which does not help his case.

Regardless of that being the case, Lallana will be keen to win as many trophies as possible this season at Liverpool, as it has been reported that this will be his last campaign at Anfield.
