News organizations in Greece are reporting that the Liverpool left back has tested positive.

After sitting out Thursday’s game against Slovenia and then training on Friday due to flu-like symptoms including a raised temperature, Liverpool and Greek international fullback Kostas Tsimikas was tested for coronavius.

Those results reportedly came back positive, with Greece’s Sport 24 are saying tonight that the 24-year-old has coronavirus based on reports from their sources within the federation—who for their part have not named the impacted player.

“The Greek Football Federation was informed today of a positive sample Covid-19,” read a statement from the federation. “The member of the squad who had a positive sample was isolated for the last 36 hours for precautionary reasons.

“[He] leaves the mission tomorrow morning, while the preparation of the Greek team continues. The other members of the squad underwent a new test today and the results will be announced tomorrow.”

Teammate Vassilis Lambropoulos was also held out of the match, though he trained today and it is believed his test was negative. Both Tsimikas and Lambropoulos’ initial tests, performed when they joined up with the national team, were negative.
