Liverpool Women Fixture List Revealed

The women will kick off their season on the weekend of August 28

Liverpool women are currently in the middle of their pre-season training camp, with an intrasquad scrimmage the latest of Matt Beard’s preparations for the upcoming season. The Reds will be heading into this season with promotion back to the FA WSL as their only goal, and Beard—who recently took over the team again—is fully prepared for a hard fight to earn the points they need.

“I’m delighted we’re going to have a home game to start the season, especially as it looks like we’ll be able to welcome fans back to Prenton Park,” Beard told the club’s website when the fixture list was announced this weekend. The Reds’ first match will be against London City Lionesses on the weekend of August 28th.

“I’ve been impressed by London City since Mel [Phillips] took over,” Beard said. “They’ve improved under her and they’ve invested in their training facilities and in good new players. So we know it will be a tough start, but we know what our goal is this season and we want to hit the ground running. All we can do is make sure we’re prepared for the Lionesses and we won’t look any further than that.”
