Trent Out Until After October International Break
It was an adductator muscle injury.
Jürgen Klopp expects Trent Alexander-Arnold will be out of action until after October’s international break.
On Monday, the Liverpool FC defender felt an adductor muscle tighten up during a light training session at the AXA Centre and remained on Merseyside as his teammates flew out to Portugal.
Klopp explained how the injury occurred:
“Trent was [supposed to play] on Saturday and then Tuesday.
So the situation was the players who started on Saturday (against Brentford), which Trent obviously did, on Sunday they had no training, only recovery.
On Monday, which is the only session we have together, we pretty much walk through the things.
We have meetings and we pretty much just talk about the differences in opponents.
There’s no real intensity really in that session, but Trent felt in the middle of the session his adductor in that area.
He has now a little injury. When you obviously have something for your muscle it makes it not likely [to play] on Sunday.”
Alexander-Arnold will now miss the visit of Manchester City on Sunday. James Milner is likely to deputise at right-back. England will also have to do without Trent’s services for their upcoming games with Andorra and Hungary.
