Arsene Wegner Calls Mohamed Salah “Best Striker In The World”
Thanks for joining the club, Arsene. We’ve got goals to keep us warm.
His tenure at Arsenal may have ended with a whimper instead of a bang, but Arsene Wegner is still one of the most astute footballing minds out there. He’s nicknamed Le Professeur for a reason, and not just because he looks great in glasses and sweaters.
Since his retirement, he pops up as a pundit from time to time on various networks to give his thoughts on whatever match is happening and did so on Tuesday on BeIN Sports for the Champions League matches, including Liverpool’s match against Atletico Madrid - that bonkers match that ended 3-2 despite all of their dark sorcery.
Wegner agreed with what most people are saying these days, too.
“He’s top, top class and he’s certainly the best striker at the moment in the world because he scores goals that nobody else can score,” Wegner said on air on Tuesday night.
“You have to play street football to dribble past people like that in a short space. He’s full of confidence and he’s creative.
“Overall, I believe as well that he is very intelligent because the sign of players that always improve is the intelligence.”
"He does goals that no one else can score!"

Salah has been able to put defenders on their butts three matches in a row now, and continues to break scoring records for Liverpool in the process. Even Jürgen Klopp said that he should be seriously considered for the Ballon d’Or based on his consistent form.
It’s unlikely that Salah will be properly recognized for this, but we are truly living in a golden age of fandom by being able to watch someone so skilled at the top of their game - and enjoying it.
He’s certainly a lot more enjoyable to watch than the other guys.
