Jones and Quansah Miss Out on England’s Final Squad
This leaves Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez as Liverpool’s representatives in the English squad.
Per Paul Joyce, Liverpool FC’s Curtis Jones and Jarell Quansah have been cut from England’s final 26-man squad for this summer’s European Championships.
Both players had done exceptionally well to make the provisional squad, especially Quansah, who was playing his first season of top-flight football. He made 33 appearances for Liverpool and, near the end of the season, was preferred to Ibrahima Konaté as the partner alongside Virgil van Dijk. Jones built upon a breakout season last year but was hampered by injuries throughout the season.
Curtis Jones has been told he won’t make England’s final 26 man Euro 2024 squad. Liverpool teammate Jarell Quansah also expected to miss out. James Maddison has already left camp after being informed he wouldn’t make the cut.

While it's undoubtedly disappointing for both players, their exclusion from the squad shouldn’t come as a complete surprise. Their inclusion in the provisional squad was A shock in itself, leaving Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez as the only Liverpool players in England’s final squad. There's even speculation about Alexander-Arnold potentially starting in midfield alongside Declan Rice. We’ll see how he does.
