Slot Talk: Four Out for Arsenal
The Reds traveled to Germany mid-week for the Champions League
Liverpool manager Arne Slot has confirmed four absences for his side’s Premier League match at Arsenal on Sunday, with Alisson, Conor Bradley, Federico Chiesa, and Diogo Jota unable to feature.
Slot did not mention Harvey Elliott, who has been rehabilitating a foot injury, though we can assume this match comes a bit too soon for the young Englishman.
Slot expects Chiesa and Bradley to return to training any moment, while Jota needs a bit more time to recover from the issue he felt early in the match last weekend:
“I think they feel good but not when it comes to playing for us during the weekend.
“Federico might train with us today or tomorrow – but Diogo definitely not. And Conor Bradley, let’s see if he can be with us tomorrow.”
Alisson is looking at a longer recovery per Slot, who did not give a time estimate for the No 1’s return:
“He’s progressing well, like we expect. But it’s not a short-term recovery.
“It’s always difficult to judge him. I think the best way to judge an injury is in the end of an injury, the end phase of his rehab, and he’s not there yet.
“I can’t tell you how much longer he will be out, but don’t expect him to be in against Brighton in the cup or next week.”
