Tsimikas: “We Don’t Want to Concede”
The left-back shed some light on the team’s defensive mindset.
Liverpool FC’s defensive prowess has been a key part of their success this season. The side have been tight at the back, with 7 clean sheets in 12 games, and only 5 goals conceded thus far.
After Liverpool’s 1-0 win away at RB Leipzig in the UEFA Champions League, defender Kostas Tsimikas shed some light into the collective mentality of the team on that side of the ball:
“I think we defend all together. One of the goals of the new manager is he asks us to defend all together as a unit, as a team. So I think that is the important thing. We don’t want to concede. Every game we all defend together and that is what we want to see.”
With captain Virgil van Dijk leading with a vintage season and Ibrahima Konaté levelling up, this defence has a great chance to turn into something for the ages. Up the Reds.
