Liverpool Legends are set for their annual charity game at Anfield during the March international break with Chelsea this season’s opponents.

Liverpool FC’s Legends match held at Anfield during the March international break has become a tradition for the club, and this Saturday will be no different as the Reds welcome a Chelsea Legends side on Saturday with a 3PM local kickoff.

This year, though, there is set to be a first, with two-time Liverpool FC Women’s all time leading goal scorer and two time Super League winner Natasha Dowie joining the likes of Steven Gerrard, Dirk Kuyt, Sami Hyypia, and Ragnar Klavan.

“It’s so exciting for us to include female players in this year’s legends game,” Dowie said as she looked ahead to the match. “We’re the first to do this at club level, we are pioneers, and it’s a big thing for young girls and boys to see this happening.”

Limited tickets remain available for the annual friendly match, which over the last three seasons has seen the Reds take on Ajax, Celtic, and Barcelona to raise support and funds for the LFC Foundation as well as other local charity groups.

“The legends games are something I’ve watched for many years,” Dowie added, “so to now be involved in one is just going to be incredible. It really is going to be a great occasion and I can’t wait.”
