Rumour Mongering: Clubs Monitoring Mac Allister Situation

Things are quiet on the Liverpool FC transfer front as the preparations for the World Cup begin their final lap.

However, it is transfer rumour season, so even at its quietest, something’s going on.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Alexis Mac Allister is being monitored by several clubs.

Alexis has been linked to Real Madrid on and off for a while now, and in the past week, reports from Diario Ole and Foot Mercato have emerged. Though it’s nothing concrete, it’s important to note that Mac’s contract is up in two years, and no serious contract renewal talks seem to have begun.

Should interest intensify, it would not be surprising to see a transfer materialise. I do think there’s some gas left in Mac’s career, but he was never a physical specimen to begin with, and the combination of his mysterious hernia injury that kept him out of the last phases of the 24/25 season and his heavy minutes the last few seasons seems to have finally caught up with him. A move to Spain or Italy really could extend his career.
