Liverpool v West Brom – TEAM NEWS

Simon Mignolet will play in goal for the visit of West Bromwich Albion to Anfield tomorrow.

The 29-year-old has been given the nod for the FA Cup 4th round tie ahead of Loris Karius who has been given until the summer to prove that he should be Jürgen Klopp’s No.1. Karius will be on the bench as 3rd choice ‘keeper Danny Ward has a game for the U23s on Sunday.

Speaking at today’s pre-match press conference, Klopp said: “Simon Mignolet will play. The reason is, and I don’t want to make it more confusing, I really think that all goalkeepers need rhythm.

“Danny Ward will play for the U23s.

“They all have the opportunity to play and keep shape and rhythm. When you need to change, you then have a goalkeeper who has played a few games. In my opinion, we have quality goalkeepers, so we can do that.”

Adam Lallana, James Milner and Ragnar Klavan look set to miss out due to various injury problems while Daniel Sturridge and Danny Ings could be given a run-out. Sturridge could still leave the club this month but the boss has confirmed that he is available for selection for this fixture.

Alberto Moreno and Jordan Henderson are also available for selection.

Six senior West Brom players have been hit by a flu bug ahead of tomorrow night’s game. James McClean, Ahmed Hegazi, Jay Rodriguez, Ben Foster, Gareth McAuley and Sam Field have all been unwell this week.

• West Brom striker Salomon Rondon (28) was recently linked with Liverpool and neighbours Everton.
