After an unexpected and woeful defeat away at Swansea on Monday night, Liverpool look to not only redeem themselves but should also be aiming to win the club’s first trophy in six years. Having exited the FA Cup at this stage in the last two seasons, Liverpool do have the home advantage in this match. An emphatic win to take us into the last 16 would erase the Swansea loss from our minds and put us in the high spirits we have been lacking as we edge closer to the end of the January transfer window with no new signings in sight.
The Monday defeat ended Liverpool’s run of five consecutive victories and 18 match unbeaten streak in all competitions. The Reds are yet to lose a home game this season, so this will be a difficult game for the Baggies. However, West Brom still has some hope in this game considering their recent resurgence. The Baggies are unbeaten in their last three competitive games as they ended their winless streak in 21 games across all competitions. They are however, poor away from home, having lost seven out of their last 12 games, while Liverpool have won eight out of their last 12 home games.
Projected Liverpool Lineup (4-3-3)
Mignolet; Lovren, Robertson, Van Dijk, Alexander-Arnold; Can, Wijnaldum, Oxlade-Chamberlain; Mane, Firmino, Salah
Klopp confirmed that Mignolet would start in goal. Adam Lallana has been ruled out for tomorrow night’s clash, along with Ragnar Klavan and James Milner. Alberto Moreno’s fitness still isn’t clear, and Jordan Henderson is currently still a doubt but could return on the bench for this match. While Daniel Sturridge and Danny Ings have yet to get some proper game time this season, I’m sure we all do hope that Klopp puts out our strongest 11 for the game.
West Brom are without James Morrison and Nacer Chadli but Alan Pardew will likely make several changes as the currently 19th placed side take on Manchester City on Wednesday night in their Premier League clash.

Jürgen Klopp: "We played a few weeks ago against West Brom and they’ve developed since then. We played not that well that day, but they did well so respect.
“Mainly we’ve had good games in the last few weeks, but that game was not too good and the last game we played was not too good, so there are two more reasons to step up again and do it really differently."
Alan Pardew: "We find ourselves in a difficult position. Having said that, of course we take less pressure into this game, it’s a cup game there’s no league points at stake, so the pressure off us to maybe open up our game a little bit, and that’s obviously what I’ve been encouraging since I’ve been here and we’ll go to Liverpool and try to cause them problems but obviously it’s a daunting task."
