Rumor Mongering: A Loan Move For Ousmane Dembele

Good thing Liverpool and Barcelona have such a good working relationship
According to reports out of France, another player could be moving between Liverpool and Barcelona, and not the way you would generally expect. SFR Sport are reporting that Jurgen Klopp is interested in bringing Ousmane Dembele to Liverpool as a loan with an option to buy.
Klopp, who usually is not so keen to fuel such rumors, slipped up when asked about Dembele in the post-match press conference following the defeat to Chelsea.
“Is he on the market? Now I’m interested” Kloppo quipped.
Well, nothing like some retail therapy, is there?
Since moving to from Borussia Dortmund to Barcelona last summer for an eye-watering €105 million plus €40 in add-ons, Dembele has struggled to contribute because of injuries. However, when healthy, he scored 2 goals and added 6 assists in La Liga and Champions League action, good for a goal or assist every 109 minutes.
Of course, the relationship between the two clubs isn’t the best right now, even if Barcelona were willing to sell and/or loan one of their new, expensive starlets (which they probably are not). Not only was there the drawn-out Philippe Coutinho saga, but there was also the fact that Klopp reportedly told his former club they could charge more for Dembele because Coutinho would not be sold in the summer.
Unlike the lead up to last summer’s transfer window, the club appear to be remaining tight-lipped this time around. The rumor mill abhors a vacuum, so be prepared for some tall tales in the coming weeks.
