World Cup 2018: Day Thirteen Schedule and How to Watch Nigeria vs. Argentina

Will the thirteenth day of the World Cup be unlucky for Argentina? Plus Dejan Lovren and Croatia are in action.

WORLD CUP 2018 | DAY THIRTEEN

GROUP C
Australia vs. Peru | 3PM BST/10AM EST
Denmark vs. France | 3PM BST/10AM EST
GROUP D
Nigeria vs. Argentina | 7PM BST/2PM EST
Iceland vs. Croatia | 7PM BST/2PM EST

There isn’t a lot of hope for a meaningful end to Group C action with France already through and Peru already out, but in theory Australia are still in it—but they need to beat Peru and for Denmark to lose to France. If that happens, they would at least be level with Denmark on goal differential. And they’re currently level on goals scored. So if Australia win by the same margin Denmark lose by it would depend on who scores more, while if they win by a bigger margin they’d be through. And if they’re totally level fair play would decide the group.

Group D, on the other hand, offers more excitement given Nigeria and Argentina’s match will decide who finishes second—while Dejan Lovren and Croatia are certain to advance and nearly certain to finish first. For Nigeria, a draw is good enough. For the absolute mess that is Argentina, who may or may not have staged a sporting coup to remove manager Jorge Sampaoli in a player revolt led by Lionel Messi and Javier Mascherano, nothing but a win will do. Which should make for an entertaining couple of hours no matter the outcome.
