Alisson Feels “At Home Already” Following First Liverpool Training Session

Liverpool’s record goalkeeper signing shared his thoughts following his first session with his new teammates.
With a Champions League final appearance and a string of big name, big money signings, Liverpool have gone from a promising project to destination club over the past 12 months. It’s not just that chance to win, though, that’s making the club so appealing.
A chance to win is part of the draw now, but from the manager down through the players and support staff, there is a positive atmosphere now surrounding the club the likes of which hasn’t been seen in a long, long time—and the new signings are taking note.
“It’s only my first day and I feel at home already!” record goalkeeper signing Alisson said following his first training session with the team. “It has been a great day which I had been looking forward to. We all couldn’t wait to get the new season under way soon.”
With less than two weeks before Liverpool kick off their Premier League season against West Ham there isn’t a lot of time for Alisson to get up to speed, but the Brazilian expects to be involved in the next to friendlies and to be ready when the time comes.
The same goes for Roberto Frimino and Trent Alexander-Arnold, both of whom returned to training on Monday following their own summer breaks, meaning only Jordan Henderson and Dejan Lovren are likely to be unavailable for selection on August 12th.
“Although these two weeks don’t seem like a long time, it’s enough for us to be ready for our first game against West Ham,” Alisson added. “This initial training session has been useful for me to see what our playing style should be in the Premier League.
“It’s also showed me the team are very well adapted and everyone seems to be fit, not to say technically—they’re all great players. I’m very happy to have them alongside me and to be a part of this project [and] I hope I can help bring something extra to the team.”
