Emre Can explains his situation with Jurgen Klopp

Emre Can’s relationship with Jurgen Klopp has been questioned in recent times, but Can has said there were no hard feelings between him and the manager during his last few months at Anfield.

Can has recently signed for Juventus after leaving Liverpool on a free transfer, and it appeared the German international was always going to leave Anfield after last season as he refused to sign a new deal in the final year of his contract.

Can wanted a new challenge and Klopp had no hard feelings over that.

“Not a lot of managers would let you play so many times when you are in the final year of your contract,” said Can, as quoted by The Daily Star.

“My relationship with Klopp was always good. He wished me all the best when I told him I was leaving.

“But I always did my best. I always wanted to help the team.

“That is what he saw. That is why he kept faith with me.”
