Jurgen Klopp set to give Danny Ward a chance to be the No 1 goalkeeper

Jurgen Klopp is set to give Danny Ward an opportunity to become Liverpool’s No 1 goalkeeper for the upcoming season, according to The Liverpool Echo.

Klopp has reportedly been impressed with Ward since the beginning of pre-season, and with the obvious issues surrounding Liverpool’s goalkeeping department at this moment, Ward will be given a chance to show his worth.

In training, Ward has raised levels which has ultimately got the attention of Klopp.

With Loris Karius at fault for two of Real Madrid’s goals in the Champions League final, and Simon Mignolet likely to depart, there’s no denying Liverpool are in search for a new No 1.

Karius didn’t help his case making a mistake against Tranmere Rovers on the weekend which led to Liverpool conceding.

Ward made one appearance for Liverpool last season. He spent the previous campaign on loan at Huddersfield Town where he was influential in the club gaining promotion.
