Klopp Confirms Return Date For Remaining Reds

The boss has set the date for the last players to return to the squad ahead of next season.
Slowly but surely the Reds have been making their way back from the corners of the Earth to Merseyside to begin training for the next season. The summer of a World Cup is always hectic in terms of training, players returning in a staggered fashion, and last minute trade negotiations, but Klopp finally has some good news in that regard.
The final four members of his team who made it until the final weekend of the World Cup have a return date. Simon Mignolet, Jordan Henderson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Dejan Lovren will all get the next three weeks to rest and will report back at Melwood by August 5th.
With France taking home the trophy, none of Liverpool’s players is coming home a winner, but Dejan Lovren made it the closest, playing all 90 minutes in Croatia’s defeat in the final on Sunday. All four of them deserve some relaxation with their families before diving back into the new season.
The timing isn’t ideal, since it will only give these them a week to train with the rest of the team before the season opener against West Ham. While it’s possible that Mignolet may not be a Liverpool player at that point, if rumours are anything to go by, Henderson, Alexander-Arnold, and Lovren are all important cogs in Klopp’s high-octane, gegenpressing machine.
Meanwhile, those four are set to miss Liverpool’s America pre-season tour which kicks off on Sunday July 22nd against Borussia Dortmund in Charlotte, North Carolina.
