Liverpool closing in on Xherdan Shaqiri transfer

Liverpool are closing in on securing the services of Xherdan Shaqiri after the club have agreed a fee with Stoke City of £13.5million, according to The Liverpool Echo.
Shaqiri is set to undergo a medical after the Reds triggered the release clause in his contract at Stoke, and providing there are no hiccups along the way, he is set to become Liverpool’s third signing of the summer.
Shaqiri has had interest from clubs across Europe, but his desire to stay in England and play in the Premier League proved the difference when it came to making a decision for his career going forward.

Shaqiri is likely to make his Reds debut during the pre-season tour of America later this month. Jurgen Klopp wants to add depth to the attacking half of the pitch, and he believes Shaqiri gives them someone who can play anywhere across the front.
It wasn’t that long ago Liverpool tried to sign the Swiss international, but it never eventuated.
Shaqiri scored 15 Premier League goals in 84 appearances for Stoke.
