Rumour Mongering: Fenerbahce Make Ragnar Klavan Offer

A fringe Liverpool player has been linked with a move to Turkey that probably won’t happen.

We know that Ragnar Klavan is likely on his way out at Anfield, with the 32-year-old Estonian having fallen behind Joe Gomez on the depth chart and eager now to move on in search of playing time as he enters the twilight of his career.

However, we’re rather skeptical of the idea he could end up with Fenerbahce despite a claim today in Turkey’s Fanatik that Super Eagles managing director Damien Comolli is in discussions with Liverpool and has already made a bid.

Mostly we’re skeptical because it feels like between then, Fenerbahce, Besiktas, and Galatasaray have been linked with every fringe player already this summer and none of those supposed deals have amounted to anything.

And it’s not just a this summer thing, either, as Turkish outlets linking fringe first team players from big clubs is pretty much par for the course every transfer window. Plus, most reliable reports have Klavan looking to move to Germany.

Still, Klavan to Fenerbahce is a thing that’s out there—and not just out there as in there’s talk of interest but out there as in a deal could be done very, very soon. So now you know about that. On the off-chance there’s any truth to it this time.
