Andrew Robertson Looking to “Put Things Right” Against Chelsea

Watch out Blues, we have a Scotsman on a revenge mission.

Liverpool and Chelsea will lock horns for the second time this week, with the London side getting the better of the Reds on Wednesday night. Some Liverpool fans might be less confident than prior to the 2-1 defeat, but Andrew Robertson sees this quick turn-around as an opportunity to exact revenge against the Blues.

“The only positive we can take [from midweek] is that we play them so soon after and we can try to put it right. It’s a completely different game,” Robbo told the club’s official website.

“We’ve lost home advantage because it’s at Stamford Bridge, and I think it’ll be two different teams. But other than that, it’s the same two clubs playing. We look forward to it. It’ll be a big game and hopefully we can come out on top by the end of it.”

It’s not just revenge from last night that the Scotsman is seeking, but from last season as well.

“Last year, especially away from home I don’t think we were quite good enough against the big teams. We drew against Arsenal but other than that we got beat in them all, which was disappointing.”

Two players that Chelsea did not have to face were Liverpool’s first-choice fullbacks, Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold. The gulf between Robbo and TAA and their understudies, Alberto Moreno and Nathaniel Clyne, was readily apparent in both attack and defense.

Of course, Chelsea will also have their first-choice players on the pitch today. But there’s little doubt that those players will realize they’re in a contest with Andy Robertson.
