Liverpool among clubs tracking Ismaila Sarr

Liverpool are one of a number of clubs eyeing young Rennes winger Ismaila Sarr, according to reports.

Football Whispers list the Reds alongside Premier League rivals Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Serie A side Inter Milan as the parties who have reportedly expressed an interest.

Sarr has emerged as a hot prospect, and may be viewed as a long-term successor to compatriot Sadio Mane on the Liverpool flanks.

Indeed, he started his career at Senegalese club Generation Foot, which can also list Mane as an alumnus.

He then joined Metz in 2016 before sealing a £15million move to Rennes the following summer.

The 20-year-old has scored nine goals for the Ligue 1 outfit, including three in his first six games this season.

He also earned a place in his nation’s 23-man squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

The CIES Football Observatory have calculated Sarr’s value at just shy of £20million.

Liverpool signed Xherdan Shaqiri in the summer to bolster their attacking depth but may consider Sarr’s form too good to ignore.
