Four Liverpool players nominated for the Ballon d’Or
Four Liverpool players have been nominated for the 2018 Ballon d’Or: Alisson Becker, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.
The fab four are among 30 nominees for the annual prize, which is presented by France Football magazine. The candidates were all unveiled yesterday throughout the day.
Alisson and Firmino both represented Brazil at the World Cup. Before that, both players had superb runs in the Champions League, with Alisson helping Roma to the semi-finals and Firmino making it even further. Firmino also managed 10 goals in the competition, with 27 goals in all competitions for last season’s campaign.
Mane also had a great season for Liverpool, scoring 20 times in all competitions despite many claiming he was in poor form.
Salah, of course, lit up the Premier League with his 32-goal debut, netting 44 goals in total, breaking multiple records. All four are certainly contenders for the prize, but Salah in particular will be difficult to overlook.
