Klopp Sings Praises of Team at Melwood

The boss believes that teamwork is what makes the dream work.

It’s a proven scientific fact that international break stretches all boundaries of time and space, and that while we have all lived ten weeks in the last seven days, it’s still never enough time for all our injured players to stop, recover, and recuperate. That being said, the staff at Melwood are doing everything they can to make sure Liverpool is ready the moment the season begins again.

“I think everybody at Melwood at the moment has the right feeling when they come to work,” Klopp told JOE, in the most Klopp way possible. “They are all really important to us — really, really important.”

“In the end, there’s always that one person that makes the decisions and that’s very often me, but we’ve created a situation where I can have all the best information from the best people before I reach it.

“I would say one of my biggest strengths is common sense to be honest, because I’m not too smart, but I understand life in a specific way to realise I don’t have to know everything.”

An excellent sentiment fit for an embroidered pillow, if there ever was one.

“There are people who know much more in specific parts so we brought them in,” Klopp added. “And I’m naturally confident, because I know that I’m not perfect, so I don’t think that anybody else should think I’m perfect — I have no problem asking questions.

“One of the things that I love most about my job is that I’ve met some really good, good people, which has made my life much more enjoyable.”

That fantastic team will be working with players who have either not left on international break, or who have returned due to injuries, including Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dyke. As of late Sunday evening, both players seem to be recovering well, but the club will assess their fitness when they return to Anfield.
