Jurgen Klopp keen on signing striker Luka Jovic

Liverpool are reportedly keen on signing Eintracht Frankfurt loanee Luka Jovic next summer.

Jovic is on loan from Benfica until the end of the season, and made the headlines a few weeks ago when he scored five goals in one game against Dusseldorf.

Former Red Star Belgrade team director Zvezdan Terzic believes Jovic could “become the best striker in Europe”, and it’s no surprise that the 20-year-old forward is known as the ‘Serbian Falcao’ in his home country.

Jovic has 9 goals and 3 assists in just 13 games this season, and would certainly add to Liverpool’s striking options should manager Jurgen Klopp decide to pursue him after making his interest known.

With Dominic Solanke struggling to make an impact and Divock Origi on his way out, the Reds could do with adding some fresh legs to the squad.

However, Frankfurt have an option to buy Jovic at the end of his loan spell, and if he continues lighting up the Bundesliga as he currently is, it would be surprising to see them pass up on the opportunity to make his move permanent.

Klopp is hard to turn down, though, and with Benfica willing to cash in on the player (who they rate at £20million), Liverpool could well end up as his next destination.
