Raheem Sterling confident Manchester City can beat Liverpool
Raheem Sterling is confident that Manchester City can beat anyone and believes that the champions can beat Liverpool when they visit the Etihad on Thursday evening for what is a potential title decider.
If Jurgen Klopp’s men win in Manchester, they will go 10 points clear of Pep Guardiola’s side and given that the Reds are yet to lose a single game this season, it’s difficult to imagine they would blow such a commanding lead.
That said, if City win, the title race will be blown wide open and Sterling believes they can beat Liverpool this week.

City are undeniably a brilliant team despite their catastrophic December form which saw them lose three games and Sterling says that when the Sky Blues are on song, they’re capable of beating anyone.
“If we can play the way we know we can play, we can beat anyone,” Sterling said. “It’s going to be a great game on Thursday and we’re all looking forward to it.”
City got back to winning ways with a win over Southampton on Sunday and Sterling says it was important to do so before the Liverpool game.
“It was massive to win and we knew we had to win to give ourselves a chance,” he added. “It’s a massive step and just what we needed.
“We had two poor games and we knew we needed to win to give ourselves a chance and we did just that. Our previous two results were difficult to take and I thought we bounced back brilliantly.
“I think we owed it to ourselves and as a team to bring that level we know we can bring.”
