Liverpool summer transfer plans revealed by top journalist
Liverpool are not planning on spending big this summer despite the obvious need to bolster an injury-torn squad, writes Paul Joyce for the Times.
Over the last couple weeks, the Reds have really struggled with injuries to key players as defender after defender picked up an issue of some kind.
Joe Gomez is still sidelined after having a second surgery designed to speed up the recovery from his leg fracture suffered against Burnley at the start of December.

Paul Joyce writes: “The plan for Liverpool is not to repeat the heavy spending of previous summer transfer windows but it will be interesting to see whether that view bends.
“Virgil van Dijk needs a reliable player alongside him in central defence.”
My personal view is that Klopp and Michael Edwards have never actively sought out big money deals but responded well to opportunities within an over-inflated transfer market to sign world beaters like Virgil van Dijk and Alisson for what now look like fair prices.
