Liverpool Reportedly Set Sale Price Rafa Camacho

The promising youngster will be sold if someone is willing to pay £10M.

The writing has seemed to be on the wall for a little while now, with promising 19-year-old Portuguese wideman Rafa Camacho publicly sharing his displeasure at being asked to take on a fullback role with Liverpool’s youth squad.

It’s the position he impressed in when given a chance with the first team in pre-season, but Camacho sees himself as an attacker and not a defender, and so there appeared a conflict brewing between the youngster and coaches.

With his current contract running through the summer of 2020, it appears that conflict has now come to a head with The Liverpool Echo and others reporting that the club have set a price for Camacho and the player will be sold.

The price is to be £10M for Camacho, and with past rumblings about a return to Portugal—he began his youth career at Sporting Lisbon before joining Manchester City and then Liverpool—that is perhaps the most likely result.

As a further sign of the impasse between club and player over his role in the team, despite previous involvement with the first team, Camacho was left out of the squad that travelled to Marbella ahead of the Champions League final.

During his time at Liverpool, Camacho regularly represented the club at the youth level and made one first team appearance—as a fullback against Wolves in the FA Cup in January of 2019.
