Memphis Depay urged to push through Liverpool move

Memphis Depay has been urged to return to the Premier League by former Arsenal midfielder Robert Pires, according to the Mirror.

The Holland international has been heavily linked with a £35million move back to England, where he endured a forgettable spell with Manchester United after signing for £45million in 2015.

However, the attacker has gone on to become one of Europe’s hottest prospects, and Pires believes Jurgen Klopp should push through a move for him this summer.

“Depay wants to come back to the Premier League and he feels he has unfinished business in England,” said Pires.

“He perhaps feels he wasn’t given a chance to perform and earn the right to stay longer considering he was so young and showed glimpses of undoubted potential. Depay might want to return to Manchester United or he might be motivated to prove them wrong by performing for one of their rivals in the Premier League.”

Depay has scored 30 goals in 80 games for Lyon since joining.
