Liverpool considering summer swoop for Middlesborough defender

Liverpool are considering a transfer move for Middlesborough’s Dael Fry, according to reports.

Fry made 34 Championship appearances last season and has 11 England Under-21 caps to his name so far.

However, with Middlesborough failing to gain promotion to the top flight again, they will struggle to keep the 21-year-old at the Riverside Stadium next season.

Liverpool are reportedly admirers of Fry and have scouted him more than once throughout the season just passed.

Jurgen Klopp’s side has been linked with a move for Matthijs de Ligt in recent weeks, but Fry could prove to be a more affordable option for a team that already has four able centre-backs.

Burnley are also keen on landing Fry, however, so Liverpool could face a fight for his signature.
