Liverpool supporters are set to vastly outnumber Chelsea fans at the UEFA Super Cup clash in Istanbul in August, according to the Evening Standard.

Jurgen Klopp’s side meet the Stamford Bridge club on August 14 in Turkey as the Champions League and Europa League winners contest the trophy.

Liverpool’s allocation of 4,957 tickets rapidly sold out and the club requested an increased amount, with UEFA adding a further 1,016 tickets for Reds supporters.

Travelling Reds can now claim up to 5,973 seats in the Vodafone Park stadium in a boost to the Liverpool squad aiming for a successive trophy win in 2019.

In contrast, Chelsea requested just 1,314 tickets for the match, meaning Blues supporters will be heavily outnumbered on the night.

The overall capacity for the ground has been reduced to 38,000 from 41,000, with all remaining seats made available to the general public by UEFA.

Liverpool last won the Super Cup in 2005.
