Rumour Mongering: Rangers Given First Option on Liverpool Winger

Reports out of Scotland claim that if Ryan Kent goes out on loan again it will only be to Rangers.
Rangers have made no secret of the fact they would quite like 22-year-old Liverpool winger Ryan Kent back in Scotland for the coming season but that they can’t afford the £12M price-tag the Reds have placed on him.
Now, local outlets are reporting that they have an agreement in place with Liverpool such that should nobody else pay that for Kent, and if the player doesn’t stay at Liverpool for the 2019-20 season, he will return to Rangers.
Scotland’s STV Sport claim that should Kent go out on loan again, he will only go out to Rangers based on an agreement between the two clubs as the Scottish Premiership side have been given a first option on him.
Kent has been linked with other clubs on loan—most prominently Championship side Leeds —but as yet there has been little when it comes to talk of a permanent move, which means it isn’t impossible he ends up back at Rangers.
In fact, if they do have a first option on taking the player on loan, that might even be the likeliest outcome at this point barring the kind of standout pre-season showing that sees Kent force his way into Jürgen Klopp’s plans.
There’s still plenty of time left to run in the summer transfer window, though, and the situation could change quickly if some mid-table or bottom half Premier League side land on Kent as a potential permanent target.
