Naby Keita not pictured in Liverpool training gallery

Naby Keita wasn’t pictured in Liverpool’s Thursday training gallery as the Reds prepare to face Newcastle United at Anfield on Saturday.

Jurgen Klopp’s men have made a perfect start to the 2019/20 Premier League season, winning their first four games and scoring 12 goals in the process.

They have the chance to go five without fault when they host the Toon Army tomorrow at lunchtime but will once again need to make do without either Naby Keita or Alisson Becker.

Neither player was expected to make a full recovery in time to play this weekend but it’s still disappointing that both players are still injured as they raise the bar every time they’re on the pitch.

While Alisson is the best goalkeeper in the world and a joy to watch in his own right, Keita is arguably Liverpool’s most entertaining player to watch as his spell-binding ability on the ball makes it impossible to tear your eyes from his diminutive form.

If the 24-year-old can overcome the injuries that have cropped up since he joined the club he can become one of the best players in the Premier League and will boost Liverpool’s chances of ending their title drought.

Last season he helped the Reds reach the Champions League semi-finals with a stunning display against Bayern Munich before he was felled by a scissor tackle from Ivan Rakitic.
