Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Kai Havertz spoke a little bit about his future.

Ah, the International Break. A time to stop and take stock of the view at the top of the table in this early season. Or to hope and pray for this break to be enough time to get some of our injured players fit and re-integrated into the squad. Or to hope and pray that our players off on international duty don’t end up injured. You know, basically anything except talk about actual Liverpool Football Club matches because those aren’t happening.

So, today, right on time, we have a bit of transfer rumor mongering because that’s another thing we can talk about during the break. Lol. Sob.

This piece of fresh transfer rumor goss is part divination and, if you squint hard enough, part real connection. It appears that rumored Liverpool transfer target Kai Havertz, has spoken a bit about his future at Bayer Leverkusen. And because he’s done so and had previously been rumored to have been tracked by Liverpool, we’ve got a bit of story in our hands.

The details, sadly, are a lot less scant once you get down to the nitty gritty. Based on the reports, Havertz spoke to a German paper regarding his future with Leverkusen. In his comments, Havertz essentially gave the typical athlete response of “I’m focused on now; tomorrow will take care of itself.”

The bit that’s catching the rumor mongers today, though, is that Havertz gave a specific time frame, indicating that he would be happy at “Leverkusen for one more year.” Is that a sign that the lad is ready for a switch? Well, not exactly.

Still, rumors have been made of flimsier things. So. If this ever becomes a thing, know that you heard it here first: maybe, possibly, Kai Havertz is looking to leave Leverkusen and maybe, possibly, Liverpool is a destination.
