Lionel Messi discusses Liverpool nightmare

Lionel Messi told Mundo Deportivo that he hasn’t spoken to Barcelona coach Josep Bartomeu since Liverpool beat them 4-0 at Anfield.
He said: “The defeat against Liverpool was our fault, what happened to us could not happen because we came from the previous year with Rome.
“The last time [Messi and Bartomeu spoke] was after Liverpool. We have no problem, it’s all good. We don’t meet because it isn’t necessary, but when we have to, there’s no trouble.”
Liverpool have started the 2019/20 season brilliantly while Barcelona are performing awfully and have taken just 16 points from their opening eight games of the La Liga season and four points from their opening two Champions League matches.
The Reds are top of the Premier League table, leading former Barca manager Pep Guardiola by eights points with a maximum of 24 points.
Given how Barcelona have repeatedly stolen Liverpool’s best players over the years, it must be said that most Reds fans are feeling a certain measure of schadenfreude over the Catalonian’s demise.
