Liverpool interested in signing Dominik Szoboszlai

Calciomercato claim that Liverpool are interested in signing RB Salzburg youngster Dominik Szoboszlai and will face competition from Juventus.

Liverpool beat the Austrians 4-3 in a dramatic European night at Anfield last night and there were a number of players that scouts would have been impressed by, including Szoboszlai, Haaland, Mino Mina and Hwang Hee-chan.

It would appear as though Jurgen Klopp was keeping a close eye on 18-year-old Szoboszlai and having seen him in action last night, it’s clear to see why as he played with the maturity of a much older player.

The left-sided midfielder showed great confidence on the ball but more importantly, he did not over-elaborate but instead used the ball cleverly which allowed RB Salzburg the chance to mount an unlikely if unsuccessful come back to make the score 3-3 before Mohamed Salah laid the game to rest with a fourth Liverpool goal.

Given that the summer transfer window only closed a couple of month ago, it’s far too soon to give transfer rumours much attention but Szoboszlai is certainly a player that would be suited to Liverpool’s style of play.

That said, given the number of midfielders available to Jurgen Klopp, it’s difficult to imagine where he would fit in unless Adam Lallana and James Milner were sold at the end of the season.

For now, it seems far more constructive to simply watch the Reds and admire the football that Kloppo has the lads playing and hopefully at the end of the season more trophies will be placed inside our rather full cabinet.
