Paul Pogba set to miss Liverpool clash

Paul Pogba is reportedly set to miss the Liverpool clash after the international break, according to French news outlet L’Equipe.

The midfielder missed the Red Devils’ 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United last weekend and is a major doubt to face Liverpool when the Premier League season resumes.

Pogba has reportedly travelled to Dubai for warm-weather recovery as he looks to return from a ‘cracked toe’ (which won’t require surgery) in time to face Liverpool at Old Trafford.

Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer’s side is closer to the relegation zone than it is to the top four and indeed Liverpool at the top of the table.

While form almost always goes out of the window in derbies and matches between huge rivals, Liverpool will be confident that they can continue their winning ways and make it 18 wins on the trot.

If they manage to do so, the Reds will equal Manchester City’s win streak record and go into the following league game against Tottenham with the chance to make the record their own.

Liverpool are on a tremendous run of form and will need to maintain it in order to keep Pep Guardiola’s world-class side at bay.
