Tim Sherwood backs Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to be 'big, big player for Liverpool'
Tim Sherwood claims that Liverpool ‘stole’ Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from Arsenal and says he will be “a big, big player” for club and country.
“Michael Edwards, the sporting director there at Liverpool, doesn’t waste much money,” he told BeIN Sports.
“Jurgen Klopp would have told him the characteristics of a player, and he went and stole him from Arsenal, Oxlade-Chamberlain.
“I believe, giving him a run of games, hasn’t materialised yet cause of injuries, Jurgen Klopp will get the best out of that kid. He for sure will be a big, big player for Liverpool and England.”
Jurgen Klopp must be delighted that Chamberlain is back in action and able to contribute meaningfully after the nightmare of an injury that he suffered in April 2018.
His explosiveness and eye for goal are so valuable for Liverpool as it offers a more direct approach than the Reds usually take and means that the more defensive sides need to be wary of the Anfield outfit in central midfield areas.
All he needs to do to make a huge contribution this season is remain fit – the rest will come naturally to him.
