Please don’t get COVID-19.

As we continue to wait for Liverpool FC to play again, a bunch of international friendlies took place. First off, our Dutch boys Gini Wijnaldum and Virgil van Dijk took to the pitch in a fairly even friendly against Mexico. Gini played slightly longer, coming off at the 63 minute mark for Marten de Roon, while captain Virgil was substituted for Manchester City defender Nathan Ake at halftime. The game was decided by a Raul Jimenez penalty in the 60th minute, conceded after Ake hauled the Wolves attacker down in the box trying to prevent the latter from connecting with the ball from a free-kick situation.

Meanwhile, Diogo Jota made an appearance for Portugal (and his old Wolves teammates) off the bench against Spain, replacing Trincao on the mark of 79 minutes. He had a really nice moment against Man City’s Eric Garcia, nutmegging the defender and then getting away with his deadly speed.

The game finished goalless.
