The youngster has been playing regularly and is becoming a hit on Humberside.

Liverpool FC midfielder Tyler Morton has been impressive on loan at Hull City this season. How impressive? Good enough for an appreciation post from the club’s social media accounts.

This came on the heels of a 3-2 victory over Blackburn Rovers, the team Morton was on loan to last season. He had a good spell there but did fade down the stretch in a typically gruelling Championship season.

Since then, Morton has appeared to kick on at his new club. Just check out the replies on that post. The Hull faithful wouldn’t mind Morton extending his stay at their club.

We’ve known that Morton can play as a deep midfielder, picking out passes from the base of a midfield. But this season, Morton has developed his game in the attacking phase. Here’s Hull manager Liam Rosenior raving about his play after a 4-1 win against Rotherham:

“Some of his play, honestly. He can do everything as a midfield player. When we were recruiting in the summer, he fits completely into the way we want to play.”

“The beauty with Tyler is he can play deep and he can be just as effective there, but what we’ve seen in training is he can create and score goals.”

“It was about fitting the functionality of the team around him. He was outstanding.”

Two goals and three assists in the Championship for a player who typically plays deep in midfield is pretty fun! Perhaps we may see Morton force his way back into the Reds’ midfield setup plans again next season.
