England Releases Squad Numbers For Euros, Trent Dons The 8

Trent Alexander-Arnold as a midfielder shouts intensify.

For those of you who care about the England squad and/or Euros 2024, England manager Gareth Southgate released the official squad numbers for the upcoming tournament.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, who could hardly get a game for England despite being arguably the best right back in the world, has since changed the conversation after adopting more of a hybrid right back/midfield role over the last year or so.

Southgate clearly wasn’t impressed with Trent as a defender, but as a midfielder, he’s willing to hand the Liverpool star the #8 kit, a classic midfielder’s number. It seems to indicate that not only will Trent feature as a midfielder in the tournament, but will also likely be starting most matches.
