Liverpool International Update: Alexander-Arnold and Gomez In For England
Both players have made the final Euros squad.
Teams continue their warm-ups for the European Championship, which kicks off next week. The big news for Liverpool from the England camp is that both Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez have made the final 26-man squad to compete in the Euros. On the other hand, unsurprisingly, youngsters Curtis Jones and Jarell Quansah were invited to the initial squad, but did not make Gareth Southgate’s final team.
Both Gomez and Alexander-Arnold were second half substitutes when the Three Lions lost to Iceland 1-0 in the last friendly before the competition begins.
Andy Robertson captained Scotland for the 49th time, which is a record for the men’s national team. The exciting achievement unfortunately was matched by the result. Scotland ended their final pre-Euros friendly in a 2-2 draw against Finland.

Japan didn’t need to use their captain Wataru Endo in their 5-0 crushing of Myanmar, maintaining their perfect record in CAF World Cup qualifying. Endo spent the game on the bench.
Ibrahima Konaté played all 90 minutes when France beat Luxembourg 3-0 on Wednesday.
The big winner from the Liverpool players was Darwin Núñez, who smashed in a hat trick in a friendly against Mexico, leading Uruguay to a 4-0 victory.
